The Salterns Academy Trust is a small multi-academy trust responsible for two secondary schools in Portsmouth.
The Trust grew from the successful Admiral Lord Nelson School (ALNS) which was asked to become sponsors for Trafalgar School (previously City of Portsmouth Boys’ School) when it converted to Academy status in April 2015. The two schools now work in partnership.
Our vision in forming and running the Trust has always been and will always be to improve the life-chances of children and young people within the city by providing the best education possible in our very student-centred schools. We aim to develop the whole child by focussing on providing a broad, stimulating and relevant curriculum and by being truly inclusive.
We are also totally committed to the positive benefits of collaboration with other schools and institutions. As such, the Trust will play a key role in helping the Portsmouth Education Partnership to make a real difference, and will ensure that its schools are working closely with Teaching School Alliances, the Local Authority, the Regional Schools Commissioner’s networks and any other agency which shares our ethos and values.
